Stop World Hunger

This blog is dedicated to informing people about child labour, world hunger and world poverty. My goal is to inform and speak about this issues so they do not have to be spoken of anymore. In other words, so world hunger, child labour and poverty no longer exist.

I think this is the best pic ive ever seen in my life thus far.

African American doctors attempting to save the life of a Klu Klux Klan member:
This photo left me speechless, this is what respect is.

Such a powerful photo. It just goes to show that through the eyes of charity, humility, and selflessness, we realize that anyone’s life is worth saving.

I never thought this post would get so many notes. I just admire the meaning that is attached with this powerful picture.

One of the best posts i have encountered on Tumblr.

Goosebumps.

This photo says so much.

this picture is so strong.

I don’t know what to say. If that racist motherfucker survived and wasn’t human enough to be thankful…

The following website is about CNN’S Freedom Project: Ending Modern-Day Slavery. It not only discusses human trafficking in third-world countries, but also in countries in which you would least expect to find human trafficking like the U.S. So, if you’re interested, check it out. Let’s discuss it!

16,000 of them are children. 1 child every 5 seconds, every day, all the time, from hunger. That shit blows.

This photo, taken by photojournalist Kevin Carter in 1993, has always struck a chord with me because it is extremely powerful. The Sudanese girl above was struggling to make her way to a nearby food station and a vulture behind her is waiting for her to die so it can feed on the child’s corpse.
After the photo was published, Carter got enormous amounts of criticism and unfortunately, Carter could not handle the pressure he experienced for not helping the girl. He then bent to the pressure and killed himself a year after winning the Pulitzer Prize.
This photo shows the horrible effects world hunger and poverty has on those who have to live that life day in and day out. For them, there is no escaping it.
The other question I have here (and many other people also have) is the ethics behind it. I am a journalism student and have been taught that as media practitioners, we must stay unbiased and report the facts simply as they are presented. I can understand why Carter did not help the girl. I can also understand the struggles he had to fight through in order to make that decision. Ultimately, Carter had no other choice than to stay unbiased and not help the girl. Unfortunately, that is probably the hardest decision he had to make and Carter’s internal struggle probably brought him to commit suicide.
So, here are my questions to you: What do you think of this photo? What do you think can be done to stop world hunger?
